Common Name The Sword-Like Leafed Dendrobium

Flower Size .08" to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm]

Found in eastern Indonesia and New Guinea in lowland areas along watercourses on dry calcareous ground or on open sunny eastern slopes at elevations of 70 to 1900 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial in forest litter or calceolaris soil or lithophyte on barren conglomerate rocks with tall, erect, branching, purplish, slightly fractiflex, smooth, leafy stems carrying many, papery, alternating, linear-lanceolate, deciduous leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, racemose inflorescence with 1 to 4, crystaline flowers that arise on the upper nodes of older, leafless canes.

Water and fertilizer should be lessened through the winter months and resumed when the new growths arise.
