Found in Sumatra, Java and Bali on roadside trees in almost full sun at elevations of 700 to 1800 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a basally swollen stem carrying many linear, obtuse and faintly bilobed leaves and blooms on a short, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence arising all along the stem and carrying short-lived flowers
