Common Name The Wedge-Shaped Lip Dendrobium

Found in Papua and New Guinea in mangrove forests and rainforests rooted in humus and overhanging rivers and streams at elevations of 50 to 500 meters as a minature sized, hot growing, pendulous epiphyte with many distichous, sickle-shaped, lanceolate leaves that blooms on a terminal and rarely axillary, short, several flowered inflorescence carrying successive opening, short-lived, delicate, fragrant flowers that occur over several months arising from brown to black dry bracts which arising from the nodes near or at the apex of the cane with the flowers in a dense cluster.
Easily grown and rapidly makes a large plant if mounted on tree fern at the top of the mount to allow the frequent keikis a place to root. Give filtered sunlight and constant high humidity as well as regular fertilizer year round.
