Found in Sarawak as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte at elevations of 900 to 1000 meters in exposed locations on trees with erect, to 9 noded, thick stems with the upper leaf sheaths covered with brown or black hairs carrying to 6, towards the apex, persistent, narrowly ovate, obliquely bilobed apically leaves which are covered in black hairs below that blooms on a short, few to several [3 to 7] flowered inflorescence arising from the upper nodes of older leafed canes with long-lasting, fragrant flowers occuring in the summer. Water should be reduced in winter but not enough for the plant to completely dry out, fertilizer can be eliminated as long as the plant is not actively growing.
