Found in New Guinea at elevations around 800 meters as a giant sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, very long stems carrying many, glabrous, lanceolate-ligulate, acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a very short, subsessile 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are cream-yellow with an orange yellow lip and an orange yellow thickening at the tip of the column foot.
