Common Name

Flower Size to 1" [to 2.5 cm]

Found in China on trees in sparse woods or moss covered limestone in Shaanxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Sichuan, southeastern Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi China at elevations of 1200 to 1600 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with erect, terete, slender many noded stems carrying 3 to 5, on the upper 1/3 of the stem, distichous, oblong-lanceolate, chartaceous, obtuse apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence arising from the upper nodes of an old leafless cane.

CAUTION often cited as a syn of D candidum or D catenatum, I have left them separate for now.
