Found in the Caroline Islands in scrub forests at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with pendent canes carrying ligulate-lanceolate, obtuse apically, contracted below into the base leaf that blooms in the later winter and early spring on a peduncle to 1" [2.5 cm] long, 2.2" [5.5 cm] long overall, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence carrying thick, fleshy flowers.
Many references refers this species as a synonym of D macrophyllum
