Found in New Guinea at elevations around 200 to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a simple, leafy stem carrying erect-patent, glabrous, oblong-ligulate, unequally and obtusely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a lateral, very short, subsessile, 2 flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the flowers are white with yellow papillae on the lip. He also says that this species is the smallest within the Grastidium section.
