Found in Papua and New Guinea, New Britain and Vanuatu as a large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial that ocasionally is a lithophyte or epiphyte occuring in mountain forest on limestone rocks or on open slopes and at the base of trees at an elevations of 1100 to 2600 meters with lanceolate to oblong, erect or spreading leaves that blooms in the late spring and early fall on a shorter to 5 1/2" [13.75 cm] long, axillary inflorescence that carries a few to several [4 to 9] flowers.
Reduce water and fertilizer slightly through the winter months and resume with the onset of new growth in the spring.
