Common Name The Carved Out Dendrobium [refers to the lip shape]

Flower Size 2.4" [6 cm]

Found only in Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect to pendulous, cane-like, leafy in the upper half stems carrying 3 to 6, elliptic to ovate-elliptic, unequally roundly bilobed apically leaves that are densely covered above and beneath by black, scurfy hairs and articulated to the cylindric, black hairy sheaths that blooms in the spring arising from near the apex of the stem, to .6" [1.5 cm] long, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts and carrying unscented flowers.
