Common Name or Meaning The Chinese Dendrobium - In China Hua Shi Hu
Flower Size 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm]
Found in Hainan province of China in open montane forests on tree trunks at elevations of 400 to 1000 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect to arcuate ascending, cylindric, slender, occasionally dilated and clavate distally, unbranched, many noded stem carrying several, distichous, usually alternate along the upper portion of the stem, ovate-oblong, black pilose when young, often deciduous with age, obtuse and unequally bilobed, decurrent clasping basally leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the stem
