Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1200 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to thin, simple, slightly compressed, leafy stems carrying many erect-patent to subpatent, glabrous, narrowly linear, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring on an axillary, short, compressed, subsessile 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish white, the lip is marked with violet and the column foot has a red spot and an orange red callus.
