Found in northern Australia on rainforests trees in open rocky areas often on cliffs and rocks at low elevations as a small to medium sized, hot growing lithophyte with slender, woody, generally erect stems carrying towards the apex in mature specimens many, stiff, persistent, dark green, distinctly unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on many, short, 2 flowered inflorescence holding the flowers back to back.
