Flower Size to 2" [4 to 5 cm]

Found in Myanmar, Thailand, southwestern China, Laos and Vietnam in forests on tree trunks at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with tufted, fusiform, sulcate, shiny purplish brown, stems carrying 1 to 4, subterminal, ligulate or oblong, thick, papery, dull green, acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a very short, 1 to 4 flowered raceme with minute bracts and carrying waxy, long lasting, fragrant flowers that arises from the nodes near the apex of both leafy and leafless canes.

A lessening of water and fertilizer should occur at the beginning of the winter but towards the end all water and fertilizer should be with held until new growths arise in the spring.
