Common Name Tran Anh's Dendrobium [Original Vietnamese collector of species current]
Flower Size 1 3/4" to 2" [4 to 5 cm]
Found in northwestern Vietnam in rather dry broad leaf evergreen forests at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with flat, strongly compressed, 4 to 12 internoded pseudobulbs enveloped basally by scarious sheaths and carrying 3 to 8, oblong, broadly acute, narrowing towards the base leaves that blooms in the spring with 1 to 4, on leafless pseudobulbs from the lateral nodes, .08 to .32" [2 to 8 mm] long, 1 to 3 flowered, green inflorescence with ovate, broad based floral bracts with an acute apex and carrying large, thick, waxy, glossy, wide opening flowers.
