Found in New Caledonia on montane slopes in rainforests and occasionally scrubland on tree trunks at elevations of sealevel to 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with leafy, grooved, slightly zigzag, branching stems carrying many, elliptic, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring on a 2 to 5" [5 to 12.5 cm] long, rarely branching, 6 to 22 flowered inflorescence
