Common Name Womersley's Dendrobium [Australian Orcvhid Collector in New Guinea 1900's]

Flower Size .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm]

Found in New Guinea at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters in filtered shade as as miniature to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial with brown, leafy, apically slightly fractiflex stems carrying many lanceolate, acute leaves and blooms in the spring on a short, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence rising towards the apex of both leafy and leafless mature stems
