Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1300 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to simple, glabrous, compressed, densely leafy stems carrying erect, glabrous, linear to linear-ligulate, obtuse and unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the early summer on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence carrying a non-resupinate flower.
Schlechter states that the flowers are white-yellow, the lip and column foot are spotted with brown, the anther is brown red and white margined in front.
