Found in Espiritu Santo, Rio De Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina, Parana, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso states of Brazil in Atlantic rainforests at elevations of 300 to 1700 meters as a small sized, pendant, cool to warm growing epiphyte with an elongate stem completely enveloped by persistent leaf bearing sheaths, older ones leafless, younger ones carrying linear-lanceolate, distichous, acute to obtuse, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, very short, single flowered inflorescence .
