Common Name The Panamanian Dichaea

Flower Size 5/8” [1.5 cm]

Found From Mexico, Guatamala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil in tropical moist and wet rain forests as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte at elevations of 10 to 1200 meters with erect to arched, cane-like stems carrying, distichous, deciduous, lanceolate, grey-green leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, towards the apex, short, .4 to .64" [1 to 1.6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a smooth ovary and capsules.

This species is distinguished from others by having deciduous leaves, a glabrous ovary and lumps on each side of the lip.
