Common Name The Sarapiqui Dichaea [Town in Costa Rica]

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found only in Costa Rica in moist forests on shady, smooth tree trunks at elevations around sealevel to 800 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with one to many, pendant stems enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths carrying close set, spreading retrorse, twisted, somewhat conduplicate, [ovate] lanceolate, thin-textured, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter through summer on a .25 to .4" [7.5 to 10 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a hispid muricate ovary.
