Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra in lowland rain and montane forests at elevations around 200 to 250 meters as a small to large sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with swollen underground rhizome giving rise to a thin, erect stem with 3 small sheaths at wide intervals that blooms in the spring on a terminal, lengthening to about 2" [5 cm], successively few to several flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts.
