Found in Transvaal South Africa in dry, high altitude stony grasslands at elevations around 1800 to 2200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with rigid, linear, the longest basally clustered leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, to 24" [to 60 cm] long, subdense, several flowered inflorescence
