Found in southern Cape Province at elevations of 450 to 1450 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 5, hysteranthous, radical, linear, somewhat spiralling towards the apex of the stem, grading smaller above leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, lax, 6 to 13 flowered inflorescence with scarious, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts..
