Found in Burundi, Rwanda, Zaire, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cape Province, Natal, Swaziland, and Transvaal South Africa in marshy areas on sandflats in full sun at elevations of sealevel to 200 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, to 20" [50 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence
