Found in southwestern and southern Cape Province South Africa in slightly damp areas after fires in montane grasslands in full sun at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with cauline, erect leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, corymbose, to 10" [25 cm] long, 1 to 15 flowered inflorescence with non-resupinate flowers
