Found in southern and southwestern Cape Province at elevations of sealevel to 80 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a robust stem carrying cauline, imbricate to subimbricate, narrowly lanceolate to lanceoalte, acute, erect leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, 4 to 14" [10 to 35 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with longer than the flowers floral bracts..
