Found in eastern Cape Province South Africa on dry rocky grassland slopes at elevations of 1000 to 2400 meters as a to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with linear-lanceolate, rigid, erect, largest below leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 24" [to 60 cm] long, laxly several flowered inflorescence
