Found in Lesotho and Natal on rock ledges, or steep rocky slopes on cave sandstone in full sun at elevations of 2250 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with rigid, erect, linear, along the stem to the inflorescence base leaves that bloom in the summer on an erect, terminal, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, loosely several flowered inflorescence
