Found in Burundi, Rwanda, Zaire, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia, in montane grasslands in full sun at elevations of 2000 to 3200 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 4, semi-erect, conduplicate, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, acute leaves that blooms in the early summer on an erect, terminal, subdense, 2.8 to 6" [7 to 15 cm] long, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence
