Found in southwestern Cape Province South Africa in mountains insand or in stony soils at elevations of sea-level to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with narrowly lanceoalte leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, laxly many flowered inflorescence with dark green, imbricate bractsa that partly obscure the flower..
