Found in Zimbabwe, Cape Province, Natal, Swaziland and Transvaal South Africa in shady spots on forest floors at elevations of 450 to 1800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, slender, glabrous stem carrying 2 to 3 well spaced, broadly cordate, apiculate leaves that blooms in the early fall on an erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, few [2 to 7] flowered infloresccence with color variable flowers
