Found in north central and southeastern Madagascar on shady rocks in humus in dense forests at elevations of 400 to 1000 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with 2 elongate tubers giving rise to a bare stem in the lower third and above carrying 3 alternate, small, oval-acute, rounded to slightly cordate basally, 5 to 7 veined, , the lowermost shortly petiolate, the others basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer, fall and winter on an erect, 1.6 to 2.4" " [4 to 6 cm] long, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence.
