Common Name The Few Flowered Diuris - The Swamp Donkey Orchid

Flower Size .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm]

The center flower in the photo is D pauciflora and the outer two are D marginata to show floral differences. Found in Western Australia at elevations of sea level to 50 meters in swamps and seepage areas around granite outcrops as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender stem carrying 2 to 3, very narrow, linear leaves that blooms in the late winter to later spring on an erect, 6 to 14" [15 to 35 cm] long, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence.

This species does not require a fire to promote blooming.
