Found in southeastern New South Wales, ACT and northeastern Victoria Australia in open montane forests on ridges and slopes in shallow stoney soils at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 folded leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence
