Found in New Caledonia?, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu and the Santa Cruz Islands in lowland and montane forests at elevations of sea level to 1300 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a branching wiry rhizome giving rise to slender, wiry, cylindrical stems carrying a single, apical,pendent, cylindrical, acute, leaf that blooms on a pendent, racemose, peduncle .28 to 1.2" [.7 to 3 cm] long, 2.4 to 6" [6 to 15 cm] long overall, laxly to subdensely 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence with narrowly ovate, acumnate, shorter than the ovary floral bract and carrying non-resupinate flowers.
