Common Name or Meaning Hirtz's Dryadella [German Engineer, Orchid Enthusiast and Orchid Collector in Ecuador current]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 2000 to 3400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceosu, purple suffused towards the base, narrowly linear-obovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall on a very short, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul with a thin floral bract.
