Common Name Humboldt's Duckeella [German Counsel and Botanist 1769 - 1859 ]

Found in eastern Colombia in humid savannahs at elevations around 200 meters as a medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with an erect, slender stem carrying basal, linear, acute leaves taht blooms in the winter on a 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts and carrying yellow flowers
