Common Name The Vermillion Elleanthus

Flower Size

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia at elevations around 3100 meters as a just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with erect, leafy stems carrying linear, acuminate, serrulate margined leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, pendulous, peduncle to .4" [1 cm] long, sub racemose, 2 flowered inflorescence with glabrous, longer than the ovary bracts and carrying remote, campanulate flowers.

"Recognized by the sepals furfuraceous, the lateral sepals subordate at the base and the lip calli are approximate."
