Found in Chiapas state of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize as a small, compact, single leafed, hot to cool growing epiphyte from elfin forest, tropical rain forest and montain rain forests at elevations of 350 to 1250 meters with subglobose to ovoid-pyriform, slightly rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear, acute, fleshy-coriaceous, rigid, conduplicate below into the petiole-like base leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on a 4" [10 cm] long inflorescence with a verrucose, purplish peduncle and rachis arising on a mature pseudobulb carrying longlasting, semi-fragrant flowers held at mid leaf.
