Common Name The Amapa' Epidendrum [A State of Brazil where the type was collected]

Found in Fr Guiana and Brazil on trees along rivers in rainforests at low elevations as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a simple, reed-like, strongly laterally compressed, flexuous stems carrying 4 to 6, all along the stem, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic to linear-elliptic, bilobed, margin entire, dorsally lightly carinate leaves that blooms at any time of the year on a terminal, occuring only once, sessile, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, thin, amplexicaul, ovate, obtuse floral bracts and carrying resupinate, simultaneously opening flowers
