Found in Cauca department of Colombia at elevations around 2500 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with filiform, elongate, flexuous, glabrous, cylindrical stems carrying a single apical sub-erect, ligulate, sub-acute, coriaceous, carinate leaf that blooms on a terminal, arising through an amplexicaul spathe, erect, nutant, racemose, peduncle 1.6" [4 cm] long, rachis 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, with patent, linear, acute floral bracts and carrying small, glabrous flowers
