Found in the far eastern Russia, Korea and Japan in forests as a medium to large sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem, carrrying several, plicate, elliptic, basally clasping, graduating smaller towards the apex leaves and blooming on a terminal, erect, stout, shortly pilose inflorescence with many leaf-like bracts, and floral bracts carrying many flowers occuring in June to August. This orchid can be found only in a Pinus thunbergii forest at the Pacific Sea in Japan.
