Found in Cusco Peru and Cochabamba Bolivia in montane subtropical forests at elevations of 1800 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, laterally compressed stems carrying 3 to 7, distichous, linear, mucronate, clear green leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, shortly pedunculate, paniculate, arching, reflexed, 4.8 to 6" [12 to 15 cm] long, numerous flowered inflorescence with minute floral bracts and carrying resupinate, cupped flowers with greenish yellow, brown spotted petals and sepals, a dark yellow lip and a greenish yellow column with purple marks.
