Found in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil on trees near river banks at elevations around 200 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with slender, erect to suberect stems enveloped completely by leafless and leaf bearing sheaths and carrying lightly coriaceous, lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms on a terminal, short, rather laxly few flowered inflorescence arising through imbricating sheaths
