Found in penninsular Malaysia, Java and Sumatra in primary forests at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a stem carrying several, papery, evanescent sheaths and 2 apical, narrowly lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves and blooms in the late winter and early spring on a from near the apex, erect, pubescent, 2 5/8" [6.5 cm] long inflorescence arising on young stems with ovate, obtuse floral bracts and to 10, non resupinate flowers
