Found in Thailand, Borneo, Malaysia, Sumatra and New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations of 0 to 1500 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with an elongated, terete, few internoded, leafy stem carrying linear-lanceolate, strongly unequally narrowly obtuse leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a very short, single flowered, terete, 1/2" [1.25 cm] long inflorescence with 5, recurved, oblong to lanceolate, acute or narrowly obtuse, mostly convex, fleshy bracts and carrying a rather large flower
