Found in Assam, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, Java, Malaysia and Sumatra in humus rich soils often with bamboos in forests at elevations around 400 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 4, basal, obliquely oblong-ovate, abruptly narrowing below into the 3/4" long petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and spring on a many flowered, glandular pubescent, brown, 10" [20 cm] long, racemose inflorescence.
