Found in New Guinea and Samoa in montane forests at elevations around 40 to 890 meters as a small to just medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with reddish tinged, obliquely ovate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, racemose, to 8.8" [22 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate with small white flowers.

Schlechter states that the front lobe of the lip is smaller than other species of the genus.
