Found in NE Madagascar in coastal; forests as a large to giant sized, warm to cool growing epiphtye with ovoid-fusiform pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 8, lanceolate, plicate, attenuate towards both ends, acute, petiolate basally leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, 4' [1.2 m] long, erect, 15 to 25 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and carrying waxy, long-lating, fragrant flowers
